ALEC BUTEC E&C, the super-contractor forged from the UAE-based contractor ALEC, and BUTEC, a renowned regional design-build industrial contractor has announced that a concentrated expenditure in the local economy will be a key component of the venture’s offering, subscribing to the national efforts for increasing the adoption of “In-Country Value” (ICV) and Emiratisation flagship programs.
The UAE has proven to be one of the most business-friendly environments in the region thanks to its world-class infrastructure, strong regulatory frameworks and long-term economic and political stability. The ALEC BUTEC JV will contribute back to the UAE economy by leveraging the local supply chain and providing a highly optimised service to its clients. This also subscribes under the ambitious “Operation 300 billion” initiative launched by the UAE government to boost the contribution of the industrial sectors to the GDP.
ALEC and BUTEC have recently joined forces in an effort to offer clients in the oil & gas, power and water sectors a local choice for top technical expertise along with construction management excellence. ALEC BUTEC Engineering and Construction will operate as an EPC contractor in the UAE with its strong design-build capabilities and substantial economies of scale derived from the venture’s wider supplier base.
In executing their UAE projects, ALEC and BUTEC procure goods and services annually from more than 3,000 local suppliers, subcontractors and sub-consultants. The venture also employs more than 10,000 personnel that are currently present in the UAE, thus guaranteeing a workforce, thereby mitigating the risk of shortages due to COVID-19 restrictions.
